Adventures of Sherlock Holmes

The New Adventures of Sherlock Holmes was an old-time radio show which aired in the USA from October 2, 1939 to July 7, 1947. Originally, the show starred Basil Rathbone as Sherlock Holmes and Nigel Bruce as Dr. Watson. Together, they starred in 220 episodes which aired weekly

Episode 1: The Scandal in Bohemia

Originally aired in 1945, here Dr Watson recounts the story Scandal In Bohemia in which Sherlock Holmes attempts to avert a scandal and nearly lost his reputation over an opera singer. Dr. Watson recounts an exciting adventure in which for once Holmes came off second best. It is an exciting story of high society and romance which Dr. Watson calls A Scandal In Bohemia.

Episode 2: The Final Problem

In 1955, NBC re-ran the transcribed BBC series of the original great Conan Doyle stories with the fine actors Sir John Gielgud as Holmes, and Sir Ralph Richardson as Watson, and in "The Final Problem," Orson Welles as Moriarty.
